Trump, who is currently visiting Qatar, is on his second stop in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia. This trip was designed to boost business ties in the region. Qatari officials marked the occasion by dispatching F‑15 fighter jets to escort Air Force One into their airspace and even offered Trump use of a luxury Boeing 747 8 as a temporary Air Force One.Trump’s earlier reception in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, included a golf‑cart ride with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and a motorcade flanked by riders on white Arabian horses. Trump’s tour concludes in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday.

Several tech leaders, including Elon Musk, OpenAI chief Sam Altman and senior executives from other major US companies, gathered in Saudi Arabia for a high‑level lunch aimed at securing business with the kingdom’s investors, enterprises, and government, as well as addressing new US trade policies and tariffs. This comes as Saudi Arabia is investing heavily to become a global centre for artificial intelligence (AI), which is part of its plan to diversify beyond oil. Other leading tech figures in attendance included Jensen Huang (Nvidia), Ruth Porat (Alphabet), and Andy Jassy (Amazon). While Musk represented his roles in Tesla, SpaceX, and his AI startup xAI was also reportedly seeking a funding round valuing it up to $120 billion.Top financial executives such as Stephen Schwarzman (Blackstone), Larry Fink (BlackRock), and Jane Fraser (Citigroup) were even there to advise on investment and diversification strategies. Other notable guests included Arvind Krishna (IBM), Alex Karp (Palantir), and Dara Khosrowshahi (Uber). LinkedIn’s Reid Hoffman was listed but did not attend.
