Kevin O’ Leary recently praised SpaceX CEO and owner of X for his growing family, especially the number of kids. The Shark Tank investor and entrepreneur recently appeared on Fox News where he was asked about Donald Trump administration's policy to persuade Americans to ‘have more children’. Leary started off saying “It’s interesting”, quickly jumping to Elon Musk. He said “I think Elon Musk is doing a great job, making up for the rest of all of us.” Leary further added “I think he’s on kid 14 now. Good for him”. Elon Musk has fathered thirteen children with three different women. Conservative influencer St. Ashley Clair has claimed having a son with Musk, taking his children’s count to 14. The tech billionaire has not confirmed having any child with Clair.
Coming back to Leary, he shared a clip of his interview on X where he said “The reason people don't have kids earlier is they're expensive. This is kind of an issue around the cost of living and the price of education.”
“So we've got a few things to fix,” he added. “We're in a very interesting situation now because people are waiting longer. What you learn in life is, when you get older you realize you wish you had your kids earlier. Family is the best thing you can get in America,” he noted.
Leary also said that if he could go back in time, he would have had kids a decade earlier.
Elon Musk’s declining population warnings
Elon Musk has repeatedly made population decline warnings. Earlier this month, the Tesla CEO highlighted a historical trend where prosperous civilisations, like the Romans around 50 BC, experience population declines due to low birth rates, a pattern he sees repeating today. He claimed that Roman Empire's failure to reverse this trend.
Musk response came in a reply to a post which claimed that the 3 things that is driving the change the cost-benefit of kids are:
Kids no longer earn — some stay in school til they’re 30.
Kids cost a lot because of inflation and college.
Government pensions mean don't need kids when you’re old.
