Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is stepping confidently into her new role behind the camera as a producer. The actress herself as a woman, recently shared her desire to bring more authentic female perspectives to Indian cinema.
Championing female perspectives in film

Speaking to IANS ahead of the release of her maiden production , Samantha mentioned that being a woman naturally influences her creative choices, and she is proud to champion stories that portray modern women's experiences.

The 'Citadel' star believes the film industry still remains largely male-dominated. She expressed the need for more women filmmakers, producers, and storytellers to bring their voices and lived experiences to the forefront, noting that women make up half the population and deserve equal representation in storytelling.
Actress-producer Samantha Ruth Prabhu said that her identity as a woman naturally drives her to champion such narratives and emphasized the need for more female voices in Indian cinema.
Creating stories that resonate with modern women

"I believe that our industry needs more of the female perspective. It's still incredibly male-dominated. I'm not saying that as a bad thing. It's just important to remember that women make up half the population and we need more women producers, directors, storytellers, bringing their voices and experiences to the forefront," she said.
Samantha also shared that her goal as a producer is to create stories that resonate deeply with modern women. She wants to reflect women's perspectives in the films with authenticity and depth.

Speaking of her upcoming film produced under her banner. The movie 'Subham' is a fresh and genre-defying family entertainer directed by Praveen Kandregula, known for his work on 'Cinema Bandi'. The film features a young ensemble cast including Shriya Kontham and Charan Peri. Samantha herself makes a memorable cameo in the film. It is set to hit the theatres on May 9.
