Granth—‘Shri Krishna Charit Manas (Rasayan Mahakavya)’—Braj Ras Rasikacharya Anant Shri Vibhushit
Jagadguru Priyadarshi Ji Maharaj, highlights that human life is a rare and precious gift, granted by divine grace. It is through this grace that the soul attains a human body, and only through divine blessings can it fulfill its true purpose. Without the guidance of a Sadguru, life remains mired in ignorance, and the soul strays from its ultimate destination.
The journey to spiritual awakening begins when lifetimes of devotion and penance converge, leading one toward the divine. Through the grace of the Sadguru and the blessings of Radha Krishna, the soul can realise its supreme purpose—attaining Golok Dham, the eternal abode of God. Yet, ignorance and attachment to the material world often divert the soul, leaving it unaware of the true source of happiness.
A Sadguru’s grace is the key to this spiritual awakening. The divine guide illuminates the path and prescribes the right
sadhna (spiritual practices), enabling the seeker to realise God within this lifetime. Even the most powerful celestial beings cannot help a soul transcend the material realm without the Guru's guidance.
The devotee’s foremost duty is to surrender fully to the Sadguru and follow their teachings. When the mind is purified of worldly desires, divine love compels God to rush to the devotee, eager to bestow blessings. However, sincerity is crucial, as God perceives all intentions. Hypocrisy and pretension have no place in devotion; a humble heart focused solely on the divine is required.
The seeker must begin with unwavering dedication to
sadhna, allowing divine grace to unfold in due course. This process requires surrendering the mind, body, and life to the divine. While God is eager to bless, grace is reciprocal—it follows the seeker’s genuine efforts in spiritual practice.
Many falter, saying, “Grant us your grace first, and then we shall engage in devotion.” Yet this delay keeps the soul entangled in worldly illusions. As Bhagwan Shri Krishna teaches in the Bhagavad Gita, the mind must be trained through consistent practice and detachment from material distractions. Even a fleeting moment of divine focus is a rare blessing.
Holy saints offer a simple yet profound remedy for worldly entanglement: chanting the holy name. Desires, akin to an uncontrollable fire, are soothed by the constant repetition of divine names . Over lifetimes, desires have entrenched themselves deeply, but persistent chanting
(Bhajan) purifies the
antahkaran (consciousness), allowing the seeker to perceive the divine in all aspects of life.
Just as
anjan (kohl) sharpens vision, the wisdom derived from the Guru’s teachings unveils the omnipresence of God. Even in moments of failure, the seeker must persevere, pouring pure love into their heart to nurture divine consciousness. Gradually, through relentless devotion, the purified consciousness encounters the divine, even within the limitations of the human body.
The mind, intellect, intelligence, and ego—distorted by material engagement—are purified through chanting God’s name. The Vedas, Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, and Shri Krishna Charit Manas emphasise that divine realisation rests upon
sadhna and
kripa (grace). Selfless devotion and adherence to the Guru’s teachings are the keys to receiving this grace, while material pursuits entrap the soul in worldly illusions.
As scripture teaches, the mind must remain as steady and unbroken as a stream of oil, fixed on the divine. By constantly remembering and chanting God’s name, the seeker transcends material distractions and attains liberation through divine grace.
