Eid-ul-Fitr is a festival for those who follow the religion of Islam and those from other faiths who choose to celebrate with their Islamic friends.
The festival marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting which all Muslims follow. The name of the festival, Eid-ul-Fitr, literally translated to the breaking of the fast.
It is celebrated grandly annually, with both feasting and prayer. Families come together to celebrate and some throw big parties. People go the mosque to pray as required and it's traditionally a time to pray for your loved ones.
With the coronavirus pandemic affecting everyone in 2020, this year the celebrations for Eid-Ul-Fitr will be quite different across the world this year. In many places people won't be able to celebrate with throwing big family or community parties which can seem disheartening. Depending on the state of lockdown, people might not be able to pray at a mosque. However, that doesn't mean that there will be no celebrations, for one can still use technology to communicate with their loved ones and prayers will be heard no matter where one prays from.
