As per the latest data, Chhaava collected Rs 15.86 crore in its three week long run. On 21st day the film fetched just Rs 1 lakh while on 20th day the film had collected Rs 5 lakh. The trend of decreasing numbers was evident from Day 19 onwards, where collections remained in the Rs 1 lakh range until Day 16, showing that the film had exhausted most of its theatrical potential in the Telugu market. The film had a decent start, collecting Rs 3.25 crore on its opening day and maintaining steady numbers with Rs 2.5 crore on Day 2 and Rs 2.25 crore on Day 3. The momentum carried into the first week, with earnings of Rs 1.25 crore on Day 4 and Rs 1 crore on Day 5. However, after the first week which took the collection to Rs 11.8 crore , the decline in footfalls was noticeable, as collections dipped below the Rs 1 crore mark, showing signs of exhaustion.
By the end of its theatrical run, Chhaava's Telugu version has managed to put up a decent fight in the regional market, but it could not sustain long-term traction. With its Telugu box office run more or less done, Chhaava is now expected to shift its focus to Hindi market before it turns to digital and satellite revenues. While its Hindi and other language versions continue to bring in strong numbers as the film is inching towards Rs 595 crore mark. It needs just another Rs 3.26 crore to beat Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2 to become the 7th biggest hit of Indian cinema.
