Speculation is abuzz in the South Indian film circles as reports suggest that Tamil star Sivakarthikeyan may soon share the screen with Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in an upcoming film. The project, reportedly SK’s 24th film, is said to be directed by ‘Good Night’ fame Vinayak Chandrasekhar and will center around an emotionally-driven father-son relationship.
Mohanlal as SK’s father?According to YouTube channel Valai Pechu, the makers are currently in talks with Mohanlal to play the role of Sivakarthikeyan’s father—a character that is expected to have significant emotional depth and screen presence. While fans are thrilled at the prospect of this fresh pairing, there has been no official confirmation from the production team or the actors involved.
‘Thudarum’ actor responds - ‘Let it happen’Mohanlal had previously addressed similar rumours during the promotions of the Lijo Jose Pellissery’s directorial ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban’. When asked about a potential collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan and AR Murugadoss, he said, “I have no idea. Let it happen,” leaving the door open for future possibilities. If confirmed, this collaboration could be one of the most exciting cross-industry pairings in recent times.
Mohanlal’s earlier collaboration with VijayInterestingly, this would not be Mohanlal’s first time playing a Tamil star’s father. The actor had earlier starred alongside Thalapathy Vijay in ‘Jilla’ (2014), where he portrayed a don-turned-father figure, a performance still remembered fondly by fans of both stars.
‘Thudarum’ successOn the work front, Mohanlal is basking in the success of his latest hit Thudarum, directed by Tharun Moorthy. He is currently filming ‘Hridayapoorvam’ with veteran director Sathyan Anthikad. The movie will have Malavika Mohanan in the female lead.
Sivakarthikeyan, meanwhile, is gearing up for ‘Madharasi’, an action thriller helmed by AR Murugadoss. SK’s previous outing was the war drama movie ‘Amaran’ which turned out to be a success.
