Rajnath Singh Bhuj Airbase Visit Live Updates: IMF must rethink assistance to Pakistan, says Defence minister

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "You have made the entire nation believe that 'Naya Bharat ab sahan nahi karta, balki wah palat kar jawab deta hai'. I can say all I want but my words would fail to assess your actions. On behalf of a grateful nation, I extend my gratitude to you once again."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "Indian Air Force assumed a very impactful role in 'Operation Sindoor' and it is being appreciated not only in this country but also in the countries of the world. In this Operation, you not only dominated the enemies but also successfully decimated them. This Operation against terrorism was led by our Indian Armed Force. Our Air Force is such a sky force which has touched the zenith of the sky through its valour and bravery. I would also like to thank Air Chief Marshal AP Singh for this, his efforts, his entire team and all his jawans. This is no small thing that our Air Force can reach every corner of Pakistan and this has been proven in every manner."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "It would not be incorrect for me to say that the duration people take to have breakfast, you used that duration to deal with enemies. You dropped missiles by going to the land of enemies. Its echo did not remain restricted just to the borders of India, the entire world heard it. That echo wasn't just of missiles but also of your valour and the bravery of jawans of the Indian Armed Forces."

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "Even Pakistan has accepted the power of BrahMos missile. There is an old saying in our country, "Din mein taare dekhna." Made in India BrahMos missile showed 'raat ke andhere mein din ka ujala' to Pakistan."

At Bhuj Air Base, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh says, "Only yesterday, I met our brave Army personnel in Srinagar. Today, I am meeting the air warriors here. Yesterday, I met our jawans in the northern region, and today I am here in the western part of the country meeting the air warriors and other security personnel. I feel the enthusiasm on seeing the high josh and energy on both fronts. I am assured that you secure India's borders."

At Bhuj Air Base, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh proudly recalled India's 1965 victory over Pakistan, saying the base once again witnessed a major success against the neighbour. He praised Bhuj’s historic role and said he felt proud to stand on the same ground of bravery and sacrifice.

Strong dust-laden winds reduced visibility to 1,200 meters and pushed air pollution to ‘very poor’ levels, affecting health and outdoor activities.
Delhi is currently experiencing severe dust storms from western Rajasthan, leading to poor air quality and haze that pose health risks to residents.

The city recorded its highest temperature since March, with more hot days and possible thunderstorms expected to bring relief soon.
Chandigarh is under a heatwave with temperatures rising up to 43°C, while evening thunderstorms may provide some respite in the coming days.

Strong winds brought temporary relief from the scorching heat in Bhopal, with temperatures at 37.3°C during the day. However, forecasts indicate rising temperatures once the system clears. Thunderstorms with gusty winds are expected in several MP districts, including Bhopal and Sehore.

Dharbandora recorded 19mm of rain while Panaji, Ponda, and Dabolim saw light rainfall. IMD predicts partly cloudy skies and evening showers across the state. Thunderstorm alerts with winds up to 40 kmph have been issued for both North and South Goa.

Heavy rains lashed Anantapur (17 cm) and Raptadu (14 cm), offering relief from hot and humid conditions. IMD forecasts more rain in parts of north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema on Friday, with isolated regions expecting heavier downpours.

Despite being the peak summer month, Chennai hasn’t breached 40°C this May. Early seabreeze and intermittent rain kept temperatures near normal. Weather models predict more rain from May 18, while experts say June could turn hotter if monsoon onset is delayed.

Partly cloudy skies will give way to moderate evening rain and gusty winds (40–50 kmph). Cyclonic circulations over North Interior Karnataka and coastal Tamil Nadu are influencing local weather. The monsoon continues to progress steadily across southern maritime regions.
