JAIPUR: Security agencies were on high alert Thursday morning after a suspicious object, believed to be a drone, was found near the India-Pakistan border in the Anupgarh area of Sriganganagar. The discovery raised concerns after a broken camera was found near the object, suggesting it may have been a spy drone. The local police informed the Border Security Force (BSF), which sealed off the area and instructed residents to maintain a safe distance.A police officer said the device - a mini-aircraft shaped drone - was first noticed by a shepherd in the Rohi area of 12A Chak. The shepherd alerted the village sarpanch, who then informed the police and BSF. Teams from the police and security agencies arrived soon after to secure the site. He said that the object measured around 5 to 6 feet in length. The presence of a damaged camera near the object raised suspicions that it might have been intended for surveillance or reconnaissance purposes. As a safety measure, a bomb disposal unit was sent to the location to examine the drone. The recovered object was secured and will be subjected to forensic and technical analysis to determine its origin and purpose.
A special team was assigned to check the drone for any explosives. SHO Ishwar Jangir confirmed that the debris was collected and taken into custody by the security agencies in the afternoon. He declined to provide further details, citing national security reasons.
