The Narendra Modi government on Thursday cancelled the security clearance for Turkish firm Celebi, responsible for high-security task operations at major airports including Mumbai. The move was initiated on grounds of national security. There has been a nationwide backlash against Turkey, which has stood with Pakistan amid tensions with India. Reports have claimed that Celebi is owned by Turkish president Recep Erdogan's daughter Sumeyye, whose husband is the manufacturer of Bayractar drones used against India.
